Carol on the Issues

Healthcare is a Priority
Healthcare
Healthcare is a priority. As a Registered Nurse with a PhD, I have 26 years of hands-on experience in the healthcare field. The healthcare bill passed by the Democrats is in critical condition and must be repealed. In Congress, I will:
- Vote to repeal the healthcare bill and support the Republican effort to free patients from government control.
- Work to reduce insurance regulations enabling insurance to be sold across state lines. Alabamians will have the freedom to purchase healthcare that fits their needs.
- Promote the training of medical professionals such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, physical therapist, and more. We don’t need more IRS agents.
- Promote patient education to support great health.
Education
Education is vital to our future as a nation. Children have been the pawns of organized education groups that do not place the needs of the students first. In Congress I will:
- Vote for parental choice for education. The voucher system must be implemented.
- Support informal educational facilities to supplement educational opportunities of children.
- Make schools and teachers accountable for students’ education. Stricter tenure rules must be implemented or tenure eliminated.
- Put the focus on students’ achievements and educational growth.
Jobs
Jobs and businesses are the backbone of America. The level of taxation and government regulations are choking the life out of the jobs that are left. In Congress, I will:
- Support free market that allows us to work towards the American Dream.
- Work and vote to decrease the tax and regulatory burden that is crushing businesses today.
- Vote to reduce the tax burden to allow tax payers to keep more of their own money.
- Work to reduce the progressive tax system in this country.
Foreign Policy
All foreign policy should be made to preserve, promote, and protect our society. In Congress, I will:
- Support our allies. We must treat them as allies. Israel does rely on the US for economic and military aid.
- Work hard to ensure that the US remains the superpower of the world.
- Support the military leaders in their recommendations for defending this country.
- Vote to not allow terrorists to have the same rights and privileges as our citizens. They are enemy combatants and should be treated in that manner.
Military
As a Naval Officer veteran, I personally understand the up-most importance of supporting our men and women who protect our country. In Congress, I will
- Vote and support for increase funding for our military.
Ensure that the military has the necessary equipment for defense.
- Work to provide the military leaders with the trust and freedom to perform the military duties that are expected of them. The military should not be restricted by Senators and Congressmen who do not understand the importance of the purpose of the military.
- Support our military veterans by voting for tax benefits. The service they give to our country cannot be measured in dollars. We should support them because they are on duty 24 hours a day.
- Support increasing financial support to our troops. Our military men and women deserve tax and education benefits. Currently Washington appears out of touch with the needs of our military.
